Interesting facts about our imitation pearls:
There are two ways of producing imitation pearls. As a base glass beads are mostly used, which are then either dipped into colour or sprayed with colour. Dipped wax beads are more favorable as the colour is not always perfectly uniform at the punching. This is because imperfections can occur when the mounting thread is removed.
Our Titanium imitation pearls manufactured in Europe are sprayed using nano-technology sixteen times with ultra thin layers. Subsequently the colour is heated at 200 degrees. The advantages of this technology are:
excellent adhesion on glass
very good stability against abrasion and UV-degradation
high chemical stability (water, steam, alcohol, cosmetics, sweat etc.)
no heavy metals are used in their production
long life span
environmentally friendly
washable to 50°C
